Okay, okay. Some of you may argue that honeybees are technically monarchists, but I assert that the queen/worker hierarchy is voluntary!

Well, maybe not. It depends on whether or not the bees have a capacity for moral agency, and can consent knowingly to serving the queen. Fuck it. Too complicated for the purpose of this post! This is just a beehive update.

After placing the hive outside yesterday and smearing some honey and a drop of lemongrass oil inside, I came back out two hours later to find the place crawling with ants! Extremely distraught and enraged, I found my blowtorch and began a merciless assault. The ants were seemingly unaffected by the piles of comrade corpses rolling down the sides of the box.

Today, however, I found the answer:

CINNAMON!!!!!
