出来た!We did it! Our first little harvest of Japanese turnips!

Our landlord stopped by, bringing all kinds of fruits and veggies for us, plus a wealth of gardening advice that I was much in need of! Z-bee is enjoying his inflatable pool in the background. Hot today!!

The watermelons now have a bit of guidance for crawling across the earth, via some straw laid out on the ground. Thanks for the advice, Nakano-san!

We also found an old telescope in one of the out buildings when we were going through some old stuff stored there. Nakano-san, the owner of the property, told us we are free to use it, and anything else in the buildings. Great! Will be a big unschooling win if it still works! I imagine it just needs a good cleaning.

As for the beehive, I'm still trying to lure a swarm here, but Japanese honeybees are very fickle. She's still scented with lemongrass oil and waiting for some folks to move in, though, so I'll keep you posted!
