China is leading the world when it comes to national security. When you enter subway stations, you have to go through security checkpoints and send your bags through an X-ray. They have tons of facial recognition and fingerprint devices to keep track of where you are. Streets are loaded with cameras to inspect illegal driving behaviour and so on.
Does this sound like an infringement of your privacy and freedom? Maybe. But this might be what Chinese citizens want in a country.
