Sharing A Bit of ICP For TTT

Insane Clown Posse is one of those bands that started to get a lot of abuse, especially over the last 8-10 years, and I'm not entirely sure why because I've always liked them.

I'm not a face paint-wearing, faygo-drinking, axe-wielding Juggalo, but I can appreciate some decent lyrics and songs of a satirical nature.

In the last couple of days I went back and started listening to some of their stuff, so I thought I'd share a couple of their songs that I enjoy.

Piggy Pie - Insane Clown Posse

Back in the days of Limewire, I came across this song when downloading some Eminem or something like that, and then I went on a bit of a spree looking for some more of their stuff.

I was a pretty big fan of Insane Clown Posse back then, and occasionally I go back and listen to some of their stuff. I started listening to their stuff when I was about 11, or something like that. In fact, I knew all the lyrics of this song back then and used to sing it to my mates during big break. My god, cringe. But, back then we'd all have fun messing around.

What Is A Juggalo? - Insane Clown Posse

So, for anyone who might be wondering what a Juggalo is, I think this song can kind of explain it.

If you're down with a clown, then you may well be a Juggalo, and will probably be added to the FBI's list of dangerous gangs. - That's actually a pretty bizarre thing as far as I'm concerned. So, a couple of years ago, Juggalos and the female equivalent known as Juggalettes were included on some FBI list of dangerous gangs and organisations of America.

I don't know if it's some form of "Satanic Panic" or what, but yeah, it's pretty strange. I'm not sure if there are people in that scene who are legitimately dangerous or organised, but they made it on the list anyway.

As far as I know, they're just people who wear clown face paint, go a bit wild, and love ICP and a couple of other bands of that nature, but out of all the different Juggalo bands, I'm pretty sure ICP coined the term and pretty much started the who thing, and eventually, it grew as new bands got involved.

House of Horrors - Insane Clown Posse

I really like this song too, because it's funny, but also fits into the whole vibe of this band, and others like it by expanding the lore of their scene. There are a couple of songs of this nature that follow the idea of something known as "The Dark Carnival" where unsuspecting people go in, only to be murdered by some wicked clowns.

Here's one thing I was thinking about as I was listening to some of their tunes, and it's something that makes them different than most other rappers. So, for starters, instead of attracting fans who like rap, instead, they created a scene outside of it, and in a way made their own genre which is really smart. But, also, I don't recognise any of the backtracks they rap to so I have a feeling they actually create original music for all of their songs, which is actually pretty cool, and it makes them more like a band, than a rap outfit.

I don't see what all the hate is over, to be honest. I remember listening to them years ago and someone was in the house kind of weirded out and asked, "Do they actually believe this?"

Now, I have no idea if they actually do. In my mind though, they don't and instead are just having fun and being satirical. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.

If someone doesn't really get it, that's understandable, because you're not going to please everyone all the time. I've just noticed that a lot of people seem to take the piss out of them, and they usually choose only a few songs to back up their insults, whereas, I think if they dived a bit deeper, they might find a few tunes they can have some fun with. Realistically, they're clowns, so I think having fun is their main prerogative.
