Sharing Some Primus Songs I Heard Recently (Three Tune Tuesday)

I'm a bit late with this week's addition to #threetuneteusday because I actually lost track of the days and thought yesterday was Monday, but here goes anyway.

Primus - Electric Uncle Sam

I've recently discovered Primus - due to being recommended them by a friend who I was chatting with over in Rebellion, he's the drummer of a band that I've shared up here before.

I think the song is deadly from the album Antipop - which is the only album I've listened to so far - I think the bass player of this band is absolutely savage.

Primus - Natural Joe

This one is class, and I find the bass the stand-out instrument, but as in most bands, each instrument and player is enhanced due to everyone else in the group and how they all play together.

There's a class breakdown in this song where the vocals stop and all of the instruments continue to play, and this whole part of the song turns into a bit of a jam, but it made me go into an almost trance-like state as I just got lost in it until it breaks back into the original tune and the vocals come back.

It's like Hey Joe, but if it was written by insane/ insanely talented people.

Primus - Greet The Sacred Cow

This is the song from the album I was told to listen to before being recommended the whole album. It's random as hell, and I don't even know how to describe it. I've found with this band they kind of don't fit into a genre, but at the same time fit into a few different ones.

My only knowledge of Primus was from the South Park theme song, and from them going on stage with Matt Stone and Trey Parker to play the songs of South Park during the anniversary of the show where they decided to play everything in a live set. But, I'm glad that I've checked them out; they've always been on my radar, it's just I have never actually sat down and listened to them.

The weird thing about them that I've noticed is that they don't really fit into a genre. I find that they remind me of a few different bands, but at the same time I can't exactly place it, it's like they're completely unique, however, not so unique that they can't be enjoyed. It's weird and I'm not sure how to describe them exactly.
