It's Zapfic Monday and they released a prompt word for this 50-word story, which is "Laser."
I wanted to have a bit of fun with this and maybe use something that is a cross between a laser pointer and a lightsabre.
"Check this out," Barantus said.
In his hand was a cylindrical device with one button in the centre.
"What is it?" Janti asked, trying to inspect the object.
"Got it from one of the outer worlds," he triggered it, and a laser shot out and burned through a nearby wall.

The Trip Back Home Was Tough
Yesterday I wrote a small post while in transit, but my god, I think we were on the go for about 14 hours. Left Blackpool at around 6 and needed three trains to get to Holyhead, a bit of time waiting in between them, and then a few hours on the boat.
We got back to Dublin at 6 and needed to wait until 7:15 for a bus down home. Ugh, that was the worst one I think because we were so close, yet so far. It took about an hour or more, and once we got in around 8:30 we had a cup of coffee which was nice.
I went to take my boots off, which I'd worn all weekend because I could fit a pair of trainers in the bag and it was good just being able to lay in my own bed. By about 11 I thought I'd just stay up, but ended up falling asleep until I woke up to my phone ringing and it was the drummer asking about band practice.
I must have sounded like an absolute troll answering the call because he just laughed. I didn't want to sleep so long, and when I saw the time I was shocked, it was close to 5:30 so I got myself together grabbed something to eat, and headed out.
We ran through a bunch of the songs for tomorrow's gig, and brought our equipment to the pub we're playing which will make it easier for us setting up tomorrow. I'm hoping to get a full night's sleep tonight and just take it easy for some of tomorrow morning.
Great weekend, but next time I'm going to fly. 24 hours traveling in the space of 4 days isn't good. One of the Irish bands we're friends with flew and we were talking to the guitarist about their case, which was a double guitar case and me and my dad said we're going to try to get a bass and guitar one, so for any gigs that we're flying to we'll only need to by one extra seat.
Hive Posting
I'm delighted I was able to keep my streak going with my posting on Hive, because at this stage I'm so close to getting the year badge. I thought prior to going over to Rebellion that if I was going to drop the streak it would be done this weekend, but luckily I managed to keep it up.
I want to thank everyone who has commented on my posts and followed me along the journey, I'd like to write one post that kind of sums up everything now that I'm back and hopefully will get that done over the next few days because there are plenty of cool things to talk about.
I'm going to get some replies written tonight, as I don't like to leave people without responses.
