Here's a zapfic I wrote for today's #zapficmonday, and the prompt for it was "real," while there were a few other ideas floating around my head, this one seemed appropriate and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

A bright spectral figure floated past the open door, it was enough to turn her blood cold. Her own shallow noiseless breaths were all she could hear, soon the steady beating of her heart thumping took over.
"Ghosts are real," she whispered.

I think horror, or suspense would be a cool genre to try and write some stuff for, as it's something I haven't really dabbled with too much. It's nice to experiment though, as it helps to have a few more tools on the belt and just about any scene can get a whole new lease on life with a little tension thrown into the mix.
