This 2012 sketch was the inspiration for the series I am about to blog about, Penumbra Musici.

The idea came about naturally as a way to interpret the relation a musician develops with his own music instrument.
While in "The Flute and the Triangle" one can clearly distinguish where the instrument ends and the musician begins, the following artworks will see one merge with the other sometimes deforming, sometimes enriching the human form.
