Greetings!
Today someone died in the neighborhood.
I didn't know them. How did I figure this out? The local church has a tower with a few bells that chime a cheerful melody every day, first at 8:00 in the morning and then 5:00 at the afternoon. It is the same melody, every day, repeating over and over again.
But when someone passes away, it is one bell only, with repeating sounds, banging for quite a long time, within long intervals of time.
It is quite depressive, to tell you this.
They say, it is a different number of "hits" depending on the gender of the person who passed away. But I never count. Nobody seems to care anyway. Also, I feel there is something wrong about that. Don't mind me, though, that's just me, I am quite sure there are traditions, embedded in this "ritual".
Life goes on, though. More shit, coming upon us all.
Choose your gods carefully.
Light out.
