Greetings, dear friends!
Each day, we are becoming more and more preoccupied with the new generation of social interactions in the form of internet and social media.
We are embracing modernism as a shelter against our overwhelming ignorance about our own identity and the role we play in this world.
Our lives have been blissfully rendered poignant, because nowadays we do not have time for self-reflection or thinking about the universe as we once used to.
The collective human ignorance is pushing us against the idea of learning and preserving knowledge, so far as most of the common population are involved.
In this dire and forgetful time, we should once again understand why it is important to read books and seek out knowledge.
For one thing, books actually save your time. This universe is infinitely vast and complicated, and our lives also conform to that pattern of complexity.
Contrary to popular belief, when you read a book, you are not spending time.
You are actually saving time. When you read books or embrace literature, you are essentially living a thousand lives and experiencing what thousands of people have experienced before you.
The sum of their knowledge, experience, insight, and feelings will all become yours as you embark on a journey to understand their lives on a deep and intimate level by the magic of literature.
It is true that the more you know, the more powerful you will become. The more you read, the more experienced you will be.
When you read books, you begin to understand what things look like from other peoples’ points of view, and that inadvertently increases your level of consciousness about the world and you will become more sympathetic to other people and their dilemmas.
Literature allows us to consider the effects of some of our actions. We will see thousands of lives, each conscious of their own, making decisions and facing the consequences of those decisions.
This will allow us to have a more mature understanding of the universe and as a result, we will become much more empathetic and benevolent towards other people.
After all, literature is the cornerstone of higher values, as opposed to the modern society where everything is bottled in a measure of money and power.
At the end of the day, a very well-written piece of literature is often better company than having the same monotonous and useless conversations with people who would sooner give up on their dreams and wish for an end to their perpetual suffering than embrace the idea of change and improvement.
Books take you on a journey of self-improvement by learning and understanding to see the world in a better light.
Give yourself the blessing of reading books every once in a while, or if you are fervent enough about the idea of a better life, on a regular basis.
Knowledge is the pathway to understand life and existence on a deeper level of reflection and consciousness.
