Are you happy with your Splinterlands returns and profits?

Hello everyone!

The older I get on Hive and on Splinterlands, the more I catch myself writing about philosophical stuff. On my first months, I was purely writing about objective stuff like super powerful card combos, invincible strategies and such. Slowly but surely, I've started creating more subjective content, talking about our feelings as players (or investors) of this huge ecosystem. In a few years I'll probably become the crazy old guy in the corner blabbing around.

But I'm still not totally crazy and detached from reality. The issue I want to raise here is both financial and emotional: ARE YOU CONTENT WITH YOUR PROFITS AND RETURNS IN SPLINTERLANDS?

This is an interesting question because one part of it is purely objective: the existence of profits or not. Have you made money with Splinterlands? If yes, how much?

Have the cards you bought in the past gone up in price?

Have you bought SPS in the past and seen the value of the token plummet from 0.9$ to less than 2 cents?

Are you a Splinterlands content creator and get nice, juicy votes on your posts here on Hive? Do you even consider those earnings as "Splinterlands-related", or do you think that those are unrelated to the game because they're fruit of your labor and efforts while creating content?

At the end of the day, are you in the green or in the red?

But there's also a subjective part of this question: if there are profits, are you happy with them? Or you feel that you lost other (better) opportunities when you brought your money to Splinterlands?

I personally made a huge purchase of SPS when it was near it's peak in 2021, and I often get myself wanting to bash my head onto the wall for it. I lost a fair amount of money with this SPS purchase, and I often get myself blaming Splinterlands for it.

But the truth is that I was itching to throw my money into NFT Games in that period, and I was going to invest in one of them nonetheless. I chosed Splinterlands/SPS and made a huge loss; but if I had invested into any other game (Axie Infinity, Gods Unchained, Rising Star, etc.), I was going to make a loss anyway. So, in fact, it's my fault for chosing the wrong time to invest in NFT Gaming.

Nonetheless, despite my loss with SPS, I'm in a profit with Splinterlands, either due my card purchases across these last 2 years, either due my "career" creating content here on Hive. If it wasn't for Splinterlands, I wouldn't have been sucked into the Hive ecosystem, and I wouldn't have became a (I like to think) fairly good content creator.

In hindsight, I would have made a much bigger profit if I had invested in other Hive assets, such as $BRO or $LEO. But looking back is always easy, and we will always find some opportunity that we "almost got into but didn't"; the truth is that back in 2021, I was extremely hyped about NFT gaming and I would never have invested my money in those tokens.

It's part of the game, I guess.

This is definitely NOT financial, legal or investment advice. You wouldn't get your financial advice from a squirrel, would you? Cryptocurrencies are very volatile, so don't invest what you can't afford to lose.
Also, believe it or not, I'm not actually a squirrel! This handsome rodent in my profile picture is a character from 'Conker: Live & Reloaded'. Here's Real Life me!
