The Forever City

In a realm of mystic lore, a city veiled in haze,
A place of wonder, where time takes divergent ways.
A city not sought with purpose, but found by chance,
Its secrets woven in a dance of circumstance.

Lost souls stumble upon its enigmatic gate,
Drawn in by whispers of destiny and fate.
But beware, ye who dare to enter its embrace,
For once inside, you'll find no exit, no trace.

A magic city, ever shifting, defying maps,
Its alleys twist and turn, like endless overlapping wraps.
Ethereal lights play tricks, in a twilight trance,
Guiding travelers through alleys in a surreal dance.

Buildings of wonder rise with spires to the sky,
Streets paved in starlight, where dreams come alive.
Yet the city's enchantment holds a sinister grip,
Once you cross its threshold, there's no outbound ship.

Time stands still within, days blending into nights,
As you wander its cobbled paths in endless flights.
An eternal resident of its beguiling domain,
Forever lost in its beauty, forever bound to remain.
