Met my friend at the beach for a walk. We met at Mission Beach at the rollercoaster lots of parking there.
While I waited, I noticed this sign.
First time I ever saw anything like this on our beaches. Things are getting real!
As we walked and talked- that is kind of our thing. Walk and talk. 😂 Anyway, we pondered on the evacuation sign and the fact that there was a big earthquake in Mexico early in the morning.
Consensus: If a tidal wave would hit while we are walking, we would be toast.
There is no way we could make it to higher ground. The only thing to do would be to hold on to a light pole or one of the palm trees and rise up with the water. That would be a long shot but probably the only way to survive. We thought that through 🤪
The lifeguards all seemed pretty relaxed and we figured they would get a warning...
Saw a guy practicing his golf swings on the sand. Pretty fun.
Another guy ran on the top of the wall. Tried to get a picture but he was too fast.
You can see the wall behind the golf guy. It separates the boardwalk from the beach and stretches on for miles. Running up there avoids slow people in the way on the boardwalk but it seems a bit dangerous. Pretty easy to miss your footing.
Usually, we are busy picking up lots of trash. Not today. They just had cleaned the sand with big machinery going through and smoothing and picking up all debris.
Well. Not all. A piece of a lobster trap was right in my way and I stepped on it. Nice one! Not.
And I didn't even get a picture of the darn thing. Pain makes your brain stop thinking - at least thinking of taking pictures.
My tetanus shots are current and I soaked my feet in Epsom salt later and dropped essential oils on the cut. Should be good.
Some were out surfing. Not too many. Actually, even though the waves were decent, it is better to stay our of the water after a rainstorm. Too much junk ends up in the ocean via the storm drains.
Later, I took Miss BB for a walk. Because it had been raining, she didn’t want to go outside. Had to make her.
Then I had the brilliant idea to let the chickens out to munch up some of the weeds. Of course, they wanted to go in the garden beds instead. Took some chasing to get them back in.
