One of the things I've mentioned before, is that I like to read manwhas, but oddly enough, even though I'm a fan of anime, I don't like to read manga. Maybe because of the difference in visual appeal between black and white vs. color designs, or the slight difficulty of being able to read the print in manga, or maybe I'm just a simple person about it. Although let's face it, they are totally different.
However, I have come across very few manga that have caught my attention, of course much of the interest has come after watching their anime. That typical itch to know what happens after a season finale and so on. Today I want to talk to you about an anime that caught me and later its manga charmed me, one of the successors of the shonen that rains hate, but that I like, and above all its manga, I will talk a little about: Boku no Hero.
Boku No Hero, also known as My Hero Academia, is a manga written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi, a mangaka who has made me throw certain comments at him on twitter every time he has the great idea to kill a character 😂.
The story takes place in a world where most people have superpowers, known as "Quirks". The protagonist is Izuku Midoriya, one of the few who was born without a Quirk, but his determination to become a hero drives him to follow his dreams.
When I started the anime, I found it very funny and exciting, especially its season finales. I didn't empathize much with its main character, but I had a certain attachment to the other characters. When the third season closed and many things were left unfinished, I started to have the need to fill that void, so I decided to read the manga. I'm going to tell you a little bit from that perspective.
The manga begins with Midoriya as a little boy, admiring the heroes and dreaming of becoming one of them someday. However, his lack of powers makes him feel helpless and hopeless. Despite this, Midoriya does not give up and continues to search for a way to obtain a Quirk.
His chance comes when he meets All Might, the most powerful hero in the world. All Might sees the potential in Midoriya and decides to become his mentor. Midoriya has an act of heroism in the quest to save someone he considers a friend, although really at that moment they are not, it happens that Izuku lives with altered perception of reality😂. Impressed, All Might decides to pass on his power, known as "One For All", to him.
From that premise takes off the whole story of Midoriya, who enters the U.A. Academy, a prestigious school to train future heroes. Here, he meets other interesting and talented characters who become his classmates and rivals. Together, they learn about heroism, responsibility and the importance of protecting others.
What makes Boku No Hero so captivating is its focus on the characters and their development, in the manga you really get to appreciate more of it, their emotions, feelings, actions and development. You empathize and grow fond of most of them, and more so, long for them to fulfill their dreams. Each of the characters has a unique personality and interesting background that makes them memorable. Here comes a taste, which a large portion of fans don't share: Bakugo is my favorite character.
For me, Bakugo is the most real character with such exquisite development that I freak out. A conceited boy obsessed with being the best, who has emotional struggles that he doesn't know how to externalize because deep down, he has a gigantic feeling of inferiority. Bakugo Katsuki is without a doubt, someone fictional that I admire as if he were real, I took a great appreciation for him and I hated with all my soul all the times he has been killed in a certain way in the manga, and that just now [spoiler], he is dead. But well, I still have faith that he will be revived😂. People hate him, because he was a bully in his teenage years, it's funny to me, because it's sure that a big part of those people were also cruel to someone growing up, it's just that no doubt: we've all done bad things in life. It's even funnier to me that year after year Bakugo is crowned as the number one popular character in the manga ranking.
But back to the generic themes, besides the characters, the world of Boku No Hero is rich and well developed. The existence of Quirks and how they affect society are explored in detail. Issues such as discrimination, corruption and morality are also addressed as the characters face challenges and make difficult decisions. And the villains, they really are real bad guys, most with an excellent back story.
Kohei Horikoshi's art is another highlight of the manga. The designs are vibrant and expressive, and the action scenes are exciting and well-choreographed. Horikoshi has a special talent for capturing intensity and emotion on every page, but that doesn't take away from the fact that deep down I hold a great grudge against him, for hurting the characters I love. 😂
As the story progresses, the manga gets more and more exciting and action-packed, it's currently at the height of its story, its big climax and really brings out more tears than anything. The battles between heroes and villains are epic and full of surprising twists. However, there are also moments of calm and character development that perfectly balance the narrative, we get to see days of normalcy that you really long for when the going gets tough.
In short, Boku No Hero is an exciting and emotionally satisfying manga that combines action, drama and comedy in a brilliant way. It's easy to understand why it has become one of the most popular manga today. If you're a fan of superheroes and the typical personal growth stories common in shonen, you should definitely give Boku No Hero a chance if you don't already.

Una de las cosas que he nombrado con anterioridad, es que me gusta leer manwhas, pero curiosamente aunque soy fan del anime, no me gusta leer mangas. Quizás por la diferencia en el atractivo visual entre los diseños a blanco y negro vs los a color, o la pequeña dificulta de poder leer la letra en los mangas o tal vez soy una persona simple respecto a eso. Aunque seamos sinceros, son totalmente diferentes.
Sin embargo, me he topado con muy poquísimos mangas que me han llamado la atención, claro que gran parte del interés ha venido luego de ver su anime. Esa típica piquiña de saber qué ocurre luego de un final de temporada y demás. Hoy quiero hablarles de un anime que me atrapó y posteriormente su manga me flechó, uno de los sucesores del shonen que le llueve hate, pero que a mí me gusta, y sobretodo su manga, le hablaré un poco sobre: Boku no Hero.

El manga comienza con Midoriya como un niño pequeño, admirando a los héroes y soñando con convertirse en uno de ellos algún día. Sin embargo, su falta de poderes lo hace sentirse impotente y desesperado. A pesar de esto, Midoriya no se rinde y sigue buscando una manera de obtener un Quirk.

Lo que hace que Boku No Hero sea tan cautivador es su enfoque en los personajes y su desarrollo, en el manga realmente se puede apreciar más de ello, sus emociones, sentimientos, actos y desarrollo. Empatizas y le tomas cariño a la mayoría, y más aún, anhelas que cumplan sus sueños. Cada uno de los personajes tiene una personalidad única y un trasfondo interesante que los hace memorables. Aquí entra un gusto, que una gran parte de los fans no comparte: Bakugo es mi personaje preferido.
Para mí, Bakugo es el personaje más real y con un desarrollo tan exquisito que flipo. Un chico engreído y obsesionado con ser el mejor, que tiene luchas emocionales que no sabe exteriorizar porque en el fondo, tiene un sentimiento de inferioridad gigante. Bakugo Katsuki es sin duda, alguien ficticio que admiro como si fuera real, le tomé un gran aprecio y odié con toda mi alma todas las veces que le han matado de cierta forma en el manga, y que justo ahora [spoiler], esté muerto. Pero bueno, sigo teniendo fe de que le revivan😂. La gente le odia, porque fue un bully en su adolescencia, me causa gracia, porque es seguro que gran parte de esas personas también fueron crueles con alguien durante su crecimiento, es que sin duda: todos hemos hecho cosas malas en la vida. Más me causa gracia que apresar del hate, año tras año Bakugo se corone como el personaje número uno de popularidad en el ranking del manga.
Pero volviendo a los temas genéricos, además de los personajes, el mundo de Boku No Hero es rico y bien desarrollado. La existencia de Quirks y la forma en que afectan a la sociedad se exploran en detalle. También se abordan temas como la discriminación, la corrupción y la moralidad a medida que los personajes enfrentan desafíos y toman decisiones difíciles. Y los villanos, realmente son malos de verdad, la mayoría con una excelente historia detrás.
El arte de Kohei Horikoshi es otro aspecto destacado del manga. Los diseños son vibrantes y expresivos, y las escenas de acción son emocionantes y bien coreografiadas. Horikoshi tiene un talento especial para capturar la intensidad y la emoción en cada página, pero eso no quita el hecho de que en el fondo le tengo gran rencor, por hacerle daño a los personajes que quiero. 😂

Es fácil de entender porqué se ha convertido en uno de los mangas más populares de la actualidad. Si eres fanático de los superhéroes y las típicas historias de crecimiento personal comunes en el shonen, definitivamente deberías darle una oportunidad a Boku No Hero si aún no lo haces.
