Hello there friends!!! 😁
This is my eleventh post about the Urban Sketchers of Medellín, this time we went to draw at the Belén Library Park.
This Library was designed by the Japanese Architect Hiroshi Naito, given as a gift to the city of Medellín by the government of Japan. The library features a huge water mirror in it's centre bordered by hallways covered by tilted wooden roofs connecting to the various buildings of the library complex, that counts not only with a main area of bookshelves but also has an auditorium and several minor halls for different activities or subjects, this includes a Japanese literature section.
Now about the drawing session, well since almost everyone was going to draw the water mirror or other exterior parts, this time I decided to make a drawing of the interior of the main building, however I was a bit intimidated by all this intricate wooden structure inside supporting the roof...so my approach was more of capturing the colours than an actual detailed representation. I did the drawing like in 45min as I wasted a lot of time browsing my cellphone because of the library free WiFi...lol.
After finishing with the drawing sessions I went to a nearby bakery where they sell some really good brownies, double decked with arequipe in between, hmmm really yummy haha. I had eaten one of those earlier in the week with a friend who lives nearby, oh boy we did really have a lot of fun that day, we had one of those conversations about everything, philosophy, history, life in general...yeah I love that..it's awesome when you meet people like that.
