ULOG: Metzli as the Responsible Home Owner

I am turning out to be quite a responsible homeowner.

I have (paid to) clean out the dryer vents.

I have a serviceman coming over tomorrow to check out my dishwasher. I don't NEED a dishwasher, but having a broken appliance just seems like a silly idea when you are trying to build a loving home.

I found a BIG ASS ROACH in my room yesterday, and even though my mom insists it came in through the drains and that drain covers are the answers. And even though I haven't really seen any other signs of roaches. I am taking the "spotting one roach is enough" measure and I got an exterminator all lined up.

I was all about writing under the #naturalcures tag, when I learned of the fleas, I inherited. I weighed out the pro's and cons regarding using poison and decided that we could keep vacuuming, sweeping, and cleaning, and that sooner than later, the fleas would die out without a host.

I even bought a steam cleaner as I heard that was the cleanest least toxic way to make sure to get rid of the "flea dust." I mixed lots of lemon essential oil mixture combined with a little tea tree oil and put it here and there and pretty much everywhere.

Besides, I have tea tree oiled myself out of some fleas before... pesky little shits.

But roaches. We aren't going to play there - so I called a professional. No need to wait and see if the roach laid her 50 eggs or not. We bombing this bitch...

I started steam cleaning my home. I took layers of grease off the kitchen and the grout looks almost not disgusting. I am starting to realize that my brown floors were actually a whole lot lighter before, and there is some massive junk coming out of the grout.

Its going to take a while to deep clean this place. I spent HOURS today and I barely made a little dent in the kitchen. The stove looks great, but there is lots of under spaces to keep cleaning in. Problem is, the little brush heads that came with my steamer aren't really doing a great job.

Or maybe my kitchen was just that disgusting?

I try not to think about it too much. I just keep cleaning, wiping, spraying, buying drain covers, and wiping and spraying some more. Eventually the skin cells I am sweeping up will be mostly mine.
