Where To Get Your News

There's an interesting story on Fox News, Barr assembles 'team' to look into counterintelligence investigation on Trump campaign in 2016, official says, detailing efforts by William Barr to assemble a team to look into the counterintelligence investigation of the Trump Campaign. It's about time this was happening. At this time Devin Nunes has already done a lot of the investigation and has, or is soon to be, referring eight names to the FBI for criminal investigation in this matter.

The Fox article gave some history on the activities and some of the players that were involved in establishing this counterintelligence investigation. In my opinion a well rounded article. I have to give credit to the authors, Gregg Re and Jake Gibson, for putting together an article presenting facts and details without going into their personal opinion, you know, what was once called news.

Out of curiosity, I wondered how the other news outlets covered the story.

News OutletArticle and Commentary
CNNBarr reviewing origins of FBI's Russia investigation

A very brief article indicating the Barr made comment of his investigation. The article did point out two other similar investigations that are currently underway at the FBI that were not mentioned in the Fox article.
MSNBCIf there was an article on MSNBC I was unable to find it. This is after reviewing the main page of current news stories and searching their site for "Barr counterintelligence" and "Barr investigation".
CBS NewsBarr has team reviewing origins of Russia investigation

Another brief article simply reiterating Barr is investigating the origin of the Russia investigation.
ABC NewsAgain, nothing could be found on this story.
NBC NewsBarr 'reviewing the conduct' of FBI's 2016 probe of Trump team Russia contacts

This article started well but then quickly degraded to covering how Barr has handled the Mueller Report and the disapproval of that handling by various Congressman. The article really didn't reflect the title. Of the 23 or 24 paragraphs in the article, only the first four reflected coverage expected from the title of the article.

My review of these news sources on this one particular subject reinforces my belief that the news we get on a certain topic depends on where we get it. Of course there are a few other sources I didn't check that some people get their news from. My apologies to Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert for leaving them out of this review.
