You must have been aware of all the activity on here in the last few weeks and months with the launch of @steem-engine and the stream of new tokens coming your way if you have been an active member of the steem block-chain.
We now have a much wider range of apps and websites for specific niches that we can use and contribute too.
Getting your head around all of them and keeping track of what is going on is becoming a full time activity in itself. I'll show you how to check your voting power on these new websites below.
I have always used the new platforms when they first launch to see what they have to offer that may be different to steemit. Some apps come and stick around, many start off well but fade fast.
This is not unusual in software development. It even has a name. Vapourware! (Think SMT's)
So which one's do you back and which one's do you drop? It comes down to a very simple idea. What is it's use case? What value does it bring to you?
Most people on steem want to bring value to the blockchain which makes sense to all of us who have more than two brain cells but it has to have some value to offer to users first and foremost.
Palnet got things rolling by changing the rewards distribution to 50/50 authors and curators. It hasn't stopped people posting on Palnet and their model seems to be getting a lot of traction.

The interface is familair as it is basically an instance of steemit with a few changes and is an easy transition for most steemians.
It also rewards contributors with PAL coins which are tradable and stakable. It also has it's own ranking system so the trending page looks a little different to steemit.
@SteemLeo is another of the new kids on the block even though it has been in development for a very long time.
It has now launched with a very novel twist. It is a content specific website
It has a tribe of early adopters who are into the same kind of content. Finance and markets.
It also has a built in method of burning LEO tokens by using of all things. The much discussed and rage inducing (by some) upvote bot. Called @leo.voter
You can delegate steem to the bot and earn some extra bounty LEO's if you are quick. 5 days left at time of posting.
This is the twist. When you send LEO's to the bot it upvotes your post with steem and burns the LEO's. Very neat. Check it out here
Again it is a very familiar interface and very easy to use.

With all these new ways to be rewarded on the block chain for the same content. It is a no brainer to be using them as it all gets broadcast to your steemit page as well.
Each new account has it's own version of voting power as far as I can tell and voting on one platform doesn't impact your voting power elsewhere afaik?
I read a post by @holger80 which laid out a simple method devised by @blockchainstudio: to check your voting power on @Palnet.
I took it and checked my new accounts to see how much voting power each one had and they were all up in the 90% range so time to get voting.
Check your voting power on these new websites by just replacing your user name where it says molometer. Don't use the @ symbol.
This tool can be used to check any of your accounts.

I also claimed a new account today for the first time using resource credits which I will use with @SteemLeo. Next week I'll claim another one for @PALNET If you would like a walkthrough on how to claim accounts using RC's let me know in the comments. It's pretty simple.
That's all folks and thanks for reading. :-)
