There was a buzz of excitement in the household this week when this beautiful butterfly arrived with the sunshine. The big news story of the week related to the re-appearance of a very rare butterfly in the region. A butterfly that hasn't been seen here for 40 years or more? The Chequered Skipper
After a reverse search for our butterfly it transpired that this little butterfly was a Meadow Brown Butterfly. (Maniola jurtina) Still a beauty don't you think?

The rare butterfly below is what caused all the excitement.

Butterflies are a source of joy for all and never cease to impress me with their delicate beauty. Below is an image that I got last year of a super friendly butterfly. Magic moments caught on camera.
