Hello Gods Unchained Fans,
It has been a fun almost 2 weeks since I last did a post and I have been playing with my War Aggro deck and making tweaks here and there, but I decided to create my first Deception deck and see how I got on.
Of course, not having played deception before, I lost the first match but then managed to win my 2nd one.
My GODS earnings have been abit sporadic as I have some nice win runs until I reach Auric Gold and then I can't manage to beat the meta there and fall down. Then I can easily grind back up and the same happens again. Keeping in Auric Gold is quite tough.
After being terrorised by spell heavy Deception decks, I decided to create one myself.. although it still has some fine-tuning to do. Against some decks I am making mistakes and also it is not flowing for me at the moment, maybe because I am new or the draw is just pretty bad.
My deception deck is pretty cheap at only $11,23, so it still could have some optimisation potential.

Today's Battle - Discovering Deception
In this week's battle, I bag my first deception win.
4 Mana
I reduce the strength of the tricky Switch Duelist and when she next switches, she is in for a shock! haha. My opponent uses order and burn on me and drops an Armor Lurker.
5 Mana
I play a Gama, Lord of the Berries. My opponent takes his time but finally uses the Thievery spell to take one of my 1 mana spells.
5.5 Mana
I should have played Hooded Pilgrim, but in the end reduce the strength of his Armor Lurker and take him out. Gama provides me with another card handily enough. I am not used to having so many cards available, there is so much drawing power in Deception. Our mana levels are almost even. My opponent then plays the very lethal Uncanny Rogue.
6 Mana
I play Rapture Dance and clear the board. I have a 1 god health lead. My opponent puts my cards to sleep and plays a pretty dangerous backline.
6,5 Mana
I throw out the Armor Lurkers. They have shield and enough strength to finish the job. My opponent responds with a lot of frontline to distract me.
7 Mana
I luckily pull another Rapture Dance and its game over.
Summary
It is only the beginning, but I am starting to enjoy this variation of the game with a Deception deck. I am making more and more tweaks as I discover useful spells and creatures that might fit in. The main thing is to familiarise with the spells and creatures and in what order I should play them.
In the end, it has spiced things up and added some freshness to my game that I am enjoying. I hope to conver this to some decent win statistics at some point.
Weekend Ranked Update
My weekend ranking results were worse than last week with just 7 wins from 18. I had a really bad run of 8 losses on Sunday and there was nothing I could do about it really. It is quite frustrating trying to keep a meta deck.
My Collection and Earnings
Since my last update, I have now reached level 266(+8) and have 125(+2) shadow cards and 468(+11) meteorite cards. My collection value has increased and is worth 3846 (3767) GODS tokens and value in fiat of $946($801) which has increased a little thanks to the move up in crypto!
I have tried to sell a few more cards that I dont play and a few sold this week which was good.
