Hive Witness Announcement
After more than 6 years, I have finally decided to throw in my hat and roll out my own Hive witness node. I have thought about doing this many times before, but have always hesitated since I never felt that I've had the time to dedicate to making sure that things were always running smoothly.
Up until a few years ago I was working extremely long hours, primarily as an ActionScript 3 game developer for a large traditional game company who needed their massive library to be digitized for an online gaming platform. I spent nearly a decade of my life undertaking this monumental task, just in time for Flash to take a huge nosedive into the depths of CancelTown.
At this point, my contract ended and I moved on and started over with the Unity Game Engine just in time for @afturner to get pregnant! After becoming a father to @littlericky, I decided to become a full time dad, which I have been doing to this day. This has ultimately been the biggest challenge of my life thus far.
However, as he slowly begins to calm the hell down, I have been finding more and more that I can sit him in the room playing while I get to work on whatever I'd like on the computer. So I thought to myself, "Hey! This would be a great time to spin up a Hive witness!"
So Here We Are Now!
I have chosen to utilize one of @someguy123's outstanding Hive Node in a Box server solutions available through Privex. Privex offers excellent servers with which I have prior experience, having employed their services when operating a Whaleshares witness a few years ago. During that period, Whaleshares was a relatively nascent fork of Steem, and as a result, configuring the server felt quite familiar to me.
As a dedicated member of the Hive community since 2017, I am honored to serve as a witness, and I am committed to a long-term involvement in this platform. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the blockchain.
While I am currently tending to my responsibilities, including attending to @little-ricky who is currently deeply engrossed with his Buzz Lightyear toy, I am also channeling my creative energies into brainstorming engaging and innovative games that seamlessly align with the Hive ecosystem.
