Body image meditation

The way you look is the least interesting thing about you’

And yet when you have believed something so long, and you have found evidence over and over to validate that thought (think magazines, social media etc) as if looking to prove yourself right, it can be hard to believe anything but; to believe your body isn’t the most important thing

But. So. I’m not saying you just stop caring - that like a light it is something that can be switched on or off because you wish you didn’t feel that way. I know that the gap between telling yourself something and actually believing it can sometimes feel so big it’s like trying to convince yourself a the grass is blue

Instead.

Can we start small?

What makes you remember that your body is not your life’s work? It doesn’t have to be big things or timescales - what I mean here is something much smaller, like moments and seconds. What are you doing? who are you with? When maybe you get a tiny glimpse of what it feels like for your body not to matter

Not in love - just not important - can you think of a time when you feel weightless/ bodiless?

And so can you take hold of this? Anchor onto that feeling. Do more of what builds that feeling and that glimpse of your worth outside of you body size.
