Tuesday night. Today my #life was very calm; it can be said that it was a pleasant day and nothing very important happened in personal aspects. It is the type of day that I like, the downside is that it leaves me with little to say in the daily publication, but that is why I usually accompany the brief description of my day with comments on some of the ephemeris of the #History of every day.
In today's case, we have a date that is familiar to me and has an interesting history, this September 5th is 'World Brothers Day'.

Martes en la noche. El día de hoy mi #vida estuvo muy tranquila, se puede decir que fue un día agradable y no sucedió nada muy importante en los aspectos personales. Es el tipo de día que me gusta, lo malo es que me deja con poco que decir en la publicación diaria, pero es por eso que suelo acompañar la descripción breve de mi día con los comentarios sobre alguna de las efemérides de la #Historia de cada día.

The origin of the date does not have to do with a pair of famous brothers or with any specific consanguineous brotherhood relationship, but has a slightly different meaning. The date is due to the commemoration of the day of death of a woman who during the 20th century dedicated her life to assisting and caring for the poorest people, a religious woman who considered each 'fellow' more like a 'brother' or 'sister', taking her dedication to the point of being considered a Saint.
I am referring to Mother Teresa of Calcutta (born August 26, 1910 – died September 5, 1997), whose birth name was Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, a woman of strong convictions and formidable dedication to her ideal.

El origen de la fecha no tiene que ver con una pareja de hermanos famosos o con alguna relación de hermandad consanguínea en específico, sino que tiene un sentido un poco diferente. La fecha se debe a la conmemoración del día de fallecimiento de una mujer que durante el siglo XX dedicó su vida a prestar asistencia y cuidado a las personas más pobres, una mujer religiosa que consideró a cada ‘prójimo’ más bien como un ‘hermano’ o ‘hermana’, llevando su dedicación al punto de ser considerada como Santa.

La idea de esta religiosa mujer, era que un ‘hermano’ no lo es únicamente por el vínculo de sangre, es también una cuestión de elección, una relación que se establece tanto en el ámbito social como en el sentido espiritual. La #hermandad, implicaba el apoyo, la comprensión y el acompañamiento, compartiendo cargas y alegrías, tristezas y victorias, en fin, que se trata de ser ‘Hermanos’ con mayúsculas.
Por cierto, un detalle curioso que me encontré, mientras buscaba la historia de este día, fue que había referencias en español que aseguraban que se relacionaba con la muerte de la Madre Teresa, pero señalaban como fecha de fallecimiento de la religiosa el año 1907, es decir, unos noventa años antes de que ocurriera… incluso cuando la fecha es de tres años antes del nacimiento de ella.

We are an 'Ego', an individual identity, but we need the interaction and existence of others to be able to fulfill ourselves as human beings. Hence, having a good relationship with other people, as if we were #brothers, is a very good course of action.

Mejor retomemos la cuestión de la celebración del día. Bien, la hermandad que se enaltece en la fecha de hoy apunta al apoyo mutuo, al establecimiento de lazos de colaboración, y al cuidado de todas las personas. Procurando recordar esas viejas ideas filosóficas sociales, que señalaban que, si bien todos estamos solos en cierta medida, es difícil (o imposible, según se vea) estar realmente solo. Somos un ‘Ego’, una identidad individual, pero necesitamos de la interacción y de la existencia de otros para poder realizarnos como seres humanos. De allí que tener una buena relación con las otras personas, como si fuéramos hermanos, es un muy buen curso de acción.
En esto de los hermanos, me acordé de algunas parejas de hermanos que me encantan, gente que trabajó muy duro y que se apoyaron mutuamente para el logro de grandes metas. Hay muchos casos en la historia, pero en particular voy a mencionar tres:

The Wright brothers, American pioneers in aviation, have a detail that seems curious to me, you see, they were interested in developing a flight machine that did not depend on hot gases, it was about inventing a machine heavier than air, and that I could still fly. Los hermanos Wright, pioneros americanos en la aviación, tienen un detalle que me parece curioso, tú verás, estaban interesados en desarrollar una máquina de vuelo que no dependiera de gases calientes, se trataba de inventar una máquina más pesada que el aíre, y que aun así pudiera volar. Al no tener avances en su invención y notar que chocaban con una terrible falta de conocimientos, se pusieron de acuerdo para que uno de los dos hermanos se dedicara a estudiar y fuera a la universidad, mientras que el otro se dedicaba a lo los negocios y mantenía toda la casa. Se complementaron y lograron cooperar, para luego crear el primer avión funcional.

I have to admit that the brotherly relationship is not always easy, but personally, I have to say that it is worth it. My best friend is my closest #brother, we have shared many years, solving problems, giving each other all the support we could, and always trying to get ahead with things that happen. So, I chose this anniversary to give recognition to those brothers who help us, and to the brothers we are willing to help until the end.
Well, I think I got really excited and this is already a bit long, but I like how it turned out. I say goodbye now, wishing you that you are well and that we can read each other again another time.

Tengo que admitir que no siempre es fácil la relación de hermandad, pero en lo personal, he de decir que vale la pena. Mi mejor amigo es mi hermano más cercano, hemos compartido muchos años, resolviendo problemas, dándonos todo el apoyo que hemos podido, y procurando siempre salir adelante con las cosas que ocurren. Así que elegí esta efeméride para dar el reconocimiento a esos hermanos que nos ayudan, y a los hermanos a los que estamos dispuestos a ayudar hasta el final.
Bueno, creo que me emocioné mucho y esto ya está un poco largo, pero me agrada como quedó. Me despido ahora, deseándote que tú estés bien y que nos podamos leer de nuevo en otra oportunidad.
