Today I'm writing the log a little late, I dedicated myself to doing some repairs on the computer, and then I installed a game that my brother had highly recommended to me, so I got distracted, and it's now that I notice that I hadn't posted about the day. Anyway, my #life is fine, and that's something to be happy about, so I better move on to comment once and for all on the anniversary of the #History that I wanted to share today. It is a celebration that was born in Spain, to honor a #food, or rather a #sweet preparation, with a long history and very typical of the European Mediterranean region.
Today, November 7, is 'World Nougat Day'. A sweet bar that in my memory is always associated with the Christmas table, because I remember that it was one of the things that my grandmother used to buy for the end of the year.

Hoy estoy escribiendo el registro un poco retrasado, me dediqué a hacer algunas reparaciones en la computadora y luego instalé un juego que mi hermano me había recomendado mucho, así que me distraje y es ahora que noto que no había publicado sobre el día. En fin, que mi #vida está bien, y eso es algo para estar contento, así que mejor paso a comentar de una vez la efeméride de la #Historia que quería compartir hoy. Es una celebración que nació en España, para homenajear una #comida, o más bien una preparación #dulce, de una larga historia y muy propia de la región del Mediterráneo europeo.
Hoy, 7 de noviembre, es el ‘Día Mundial del Turrón’. Una barra dulce que en mi memoria siempre se asocia con la mesa navideña, pues recuerdo que era una de las cosas que mi abuela solía comparar para las fechas de fin de año.

As for the origin of the celebration, or the people who proposed it, I suppose the quickest and most correct thing is for me to take advantage and cite the information I found (original in Spanish, https://www.larazon.es/gastronomia/celebrando- dia-mundial-turron-dulce-tradicion-mediterranea_202311076549e7daf6ca720001eda57c.html): “Recently, the procedures have been initiated to make this day official as World Nougat Day, and this initiative has had the support of the Jijona City Council, the “deputation of the province of Alicante, the IGP Nougat Regulatory Council of Jijona and Alicante, as well as various companies in the nougat and chocolate sector.”
I knew this type of hard #nougat, white in color and with nuts in its mix, whether it was nougat with hazelnuts or nougat with peanuts, but I didn't know that there was an Italian version that seems to use chocolate and prides itself on having ingredients in layers, which increases the experience and enjoyment of this preparation.

En cuanto al origen de la celebración, o de la gente que lo propuso, supongo que lo más rápido y correcto es que aproveche y cite la información que encontré (https://www.larazon.es/gastronomia/celebrando-dia-mundial-turron-dulce-tradicion-mediterranea_202311076549e7daf6ca720001eda57c.html): “Recientemente, se han iniciado los trámites para que se oficialice este día como el Día Mundial del Turrón, y esta iniciativa ha contado con el respaldo del Ayuntamiento de Jijona, la diputación de la provincia de Alicante, el Consejo Regulador IGP de Turrón de Jijona y de Alicante, así como diversas empresas del sector turronero y del chocolate.”
Yo conocía este tipo de turrón duro, de color blanco y con frutos secos en su mezcla, ya fuera el turrón con avellanas o el #turron con maní, pero no sabía que existía una versión italiana que parece que usa chocolate y se precia de tener ingredientes por capas, lo que aumenta la experiencia y el disfrute de esta preparación.

I seem to remember that I read a long time ago that nougat is a way of preparing a kind of ancient 'energy bar' that gained popularity as part of the supplies for soldiers in the Napoleonic era, during the battles in Europe in the 18th and 20th centuries. XIX. So it led me to remember the different moments when, during a fight, a dose of sugar and carbohydrates became what was necessary to be able to endure and survive another day.
At times, it seems incredible to me that I have it in my mind with a strange association, between battlefields (something like hell on earth) and family celebration tables (which when I was a child, was a sweet and warm image), but I guess my mind tends to work in strange ways (personal laugh). However, I like to celebrate this date, that reminds me that I should try to buy some nougat for Christmas dinner, maybe I will take care of those purchases this week. I say goodbye now, wishing you that you are well and that we can read again another time.

Creo recordar que leí hace tiempo que el turrón es una manera de preparación de una especie de antigua ‘barra de energía’ que ganó popularidad como parte de los insumos para los soldados de la época napoleónica, durante las batallas en Europa del siglo XVIII y siglo XIX. Así que me llevó a recordar los distintos momentos en que, durante un combate, una dosis de azúcar y carbohidratos, se convirtió en lo necesario para poder aguantar y sobrevivir un día más.
Por momentos me parece increíble que lo tenga en mi mente con una rara asociación, entre campos de batalla (algo así como un infierno en la tierra) y las mesas familiares de celebración (que cuando yo era niño, era una imagen dulce y cálida), pero supongo que mi mente suele trabajar de maneras raras (risa personal). Sin embargo, me agrada celebrar esta fecha, eso me recuerda que debería tratar de comprar unos turrones para la cena navideña, quizás me encargue de esas comprar en esta semana. Ya me despido, deseándote que tú estés bien y que nos podamos leer de nuevo en otra oportunidad.
