A walk in the bush with a Nikon P7100 camera.

I work in Artarmon, NSW, Australia. It's a very nice area surrounded with some nice bush walk tracks so it's no surprise that I regularly take a walk under the trees just to go to local restaurants. It's obviously a longer walk but oh so relaxing.

After cleaning up the house this weekend, my wife found my Nikon P7100 point-and-shoot camera. I bought it back in the UK, over 7 years ago, as a backup camera for my Nikon D300 semi-pro DSLR camera. It wasn't unusual for photographers to also own a high end point-and-shoot as they are more compact and much lighter and make a great travelling camera when you don't want bulkiness but still want to retain image quality.

Having not touched it for years, I wanted to take it for a test and re-discover its capabilities and it was nice to see that it's still a great little camera.

Here are today's humble nature shots. Starting with some fern leaves. I like their pattern making them look fractals:

This old trunk is bleeding some red resin, looks almost yummy!

As I was walking in the wood, I noticed a little patch of mushrooms hidden outside of the path so I got a little closer:

Australia is known for hosting very diverse fauna including scary insects such as spiders. This, I think is a female Golden Orb-Weaver and is harmless to human.

This Maidenhair fern (possibly) is creating a beautiful contrast against the dark brown color of the cut down trunk it was growing next to.
