ULOG 127 - Hương Rừng Restaurant in Cabramatta

Today my cousins were celebrating the birthday to their son in Camden, NSW. We drove about two hours from our place to let the kids play together. It's not every day that the family is gathering together in big number so it was a good opportunity.

After the party, my cousins from Canberra went shopping with us in Cabramatta. Cabramatta is home to the first Vietnamese community in Australia. Its history went on not without a lot of controversy but today every thing is now in order.

While the ladies went buying some fruits and veg, I took the kids for a walk while my cousin went to buy us some sugarcane drinks.

San and his cousin S. were playing near the big gate on the animal statues. San always likes to ride the big concrete turtle.

The shoppings were then left in the car and we then headed to a new restaurant that has opened less than two months ago and my cousin said they made very nice Bánh Cuốn (Vietnamese Steamed Rice Rolls).

The menu was exhaustive and we would have to come back quite a few time to try them all 😅

The decoration and ambiance was nice and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I thought the Bánh Cuốn was a starter and started ordering another dish when the waiter told me that this would too much food for us and also suggested the kids could share the single fried rice.

The Bánh Cuốn came out first and it looked and smelled really good. The taste and texture was also great. I highly recommend this dish from this restaurant. I accompany my Bánh Cuốn with some milk coffee with ice.

The Phở (Vietnamese Beef Noodle soup) was good but nothing special, we still prefer it at the An Restaurant in Bankstown.

We have not tried the other dishes but so far so good and we will definitely give it another try.
