These last few days I have dedicated myself to watching an animated series that I had always been quite curious about, but honestly I had never dedicated enough time to.
And despite having a mainly children's focus, the impact that Adventure Time had on the entire modern animation panorama is undeniable, paving the way so that gems like Gravity Falls, Over the Garden Wall and even Rick And Morty were created
Something that I tend to really appreciate in animated series and films is when they have the ability to take full advantage of the capabilities of the medium in which they were created, a medium that ironically can use its own limitations to its favor.
Adventure Time demonstrates this philosophy perfectly, since although it would have been feasible to create just another fantasy series with elements of light comedy, it uses this universe to build a wonderful story, a story that becomes more complex and emotional with each passing episode.
Although in Adventure Time the hook is its characters (Starting from Finn and Jake to other supporting characters such as Princess Bubblegum, the Ice King and Marceline), all accompanied by fascinating personalities and attractive designs, it is easy to get involved with all the plots and things that happen to them, especially when this allow us to know more about their past or the logic of the world they inhabit.
Little by little we will discover that the land of Ooo is actually a post-apocalyptic setting and Finn is the only human who survived, this mixture of a sweet and colorful aesthetic with more murky elements are those that keep us wanting more, and then After a couple of wonderful opening seasons I'm sure things are only going to continue to get better.
Estos últimos días me he dedicado a ver una serie animada por la que siempre había sentido bastante curiosidad, pero honestamente nunca le había dedicado suficiente tiempo.
Y es que a pesar de tener un enfoque principalmente infantil, es innegable el impacto que tuvo Adventure Time en todo el panorama de la animación moderno, labrando el camino para que luego pudieran existir joyas como Gravity Falls, Over the Garden Wall e incluso Rick And Morty.
Algo que suelo apreciar muchísimo en las series y películas animadas, es cuando tienen la capacidad de aprovechar al máximo las capacidades del medio en el que fueron creadas, un medio que irónicamente puede usar sus propias limitaciones a su favor.
Adventure Time demuestra está filosofía perfectamente, puesto que aunque hubiese Sido factible crear una serie de fantasía más del montón con elementos de comedia ligera, aprovecho este universo para construir una historia maravillosa, que con cada episodio que pasa se va tornando más compleja y emocional.
Aunque en Adventure Time el gancho son sus personajes (Partiendo desde Finn y Jake hasta otros secundarios como Princess Bubblegum, the ice king y Marceline), todos acompañados de personalidades fascinantes y diseños atractivos, es fácil implicarse con todas las tramas por lo que los mismos van pasando, especialmente cuando nos permiten conocer más de su pasado o la lógica del mundo en que habitan en si.
Poco a poco descubriremos que la tierra de Ooo, en realidad es un escenario post apocalíptico y Finn es el único humano que sobrevivió, está mezcla de una estética dulce y colorida con elementos más turbios son aquellos que nos mantienen con ganas de más, y luego de un par de temporadas iniciales maravillosas estoy seguro de que las cosas solo van a seguir mejorando.
