After several months away from the mountain bike for medical issues, today I took a ride to the castle ruins up the hill from home. The ride is a 12km circle starting almost at sea level and climbing up to 360 mts. It does not seem too much but the ramps to the castle are quite steep and considering I am not in shape at all, I am glad I made it. Here's a view of the castle at the top of the hill when I was starting to face the ramps
The path goes next to an old farm ruin which is still in quite good condition.
Right in front of the ruin, there is a 200-year-old building from an ancient wealthier family which is now a youth hostel, I was so close I could only get the tower of the building in the photo.
It was a beautiful autumn sunny Saturday, the atmosphere was very clear due to the past rain we had and the colors of the trees, sky, and ocean were delightful.
The path keeps going up until you reach the final ramps to the base of the castle
From there, facing south, you could see the silhouette of Barcelona skyline far away
I believe I spent as much time taking the pictures than cycling, but it was such an amazing day, it was worth it. Going down with the cold breeze was also a pleasure.
