Getting ready for Friday

No, this is not about going out for a beer to end the working week. I am preparing all I need to share my project with some of the 46 craft beer producers who will come to town for the Mash Beer Festival next weekend.

Organized by Garage Beer Co., one of the top breweries in Spain. They started as a brewpub in 2015 in the Eixample neighborhood of Barcelona. In 2017 they opened their main brewery where most of their beers are brewed, though they still use the brewpub for their mixed fermentation beers. You can find them every day at Consell de Cent 261, Barcelona, where they’ll receive you with open arms and fresh beers!

They are responsible for a whole bevy of delicious double IPAs, lagers, ales, sours, and much more. Based in the vibrant city of Barcelona, Garage is known for brewing creations, including the classic Soup IPA, that are bursting with flavor, transporting you to the bustling La Rambla and the laid-back beaches of Barceloneta.

You can read the story about the company's creation and its two founders Alberto Zamborlin (an Italian) and James Welsh (an Englishman) both came to the city by way of other careers, meeting at a homebrew club in 2013.

As some of you may know, I have been putting some time into a new beer-related project with my partners. we intend to launch early next year and joining beer festivals to meet with craft beer companies is the way we have been getting a grasp of the industry's needs.

Beer Festivals are the perfect place to meet several of those companies, chat with them, explain to them what the business model is all about, listen to their questions and answer them, and feel if they are willing to participate. So far, we've only talked to local craft beer producers as the festivals we have attended are around the Barcelona area, but this week we will have a chance to share the project with several North American, British, German, Italian, Irish and Polish, on top of some from other areas of Spain.

I am happy to have this opportunity right the moment we need it. The festival will be a great stage for us and I can't wait to share our business model, listen to their questions, capture their concerns, and finetune the model as I am sure we will get great feedback from many of them. We plan to attend at lunch to meet them while they are relaxed and the crowd has not yet arrived.

Of course, we will taste some of the beers, but probably after we have had time to chat with most of them. I will also take some time to relax and shoot some photos so I can also share the experience with you.

For now, I am just gonna share with you one of the logo versions we have been working on. Cheers!
