In the coming days and weeks, every once in a while I am going to be posting about the progress of this new project I am working on together with my partners.
It is an idea I have had in my mind for quite a while, and over the years I have twisted it several times to end up with a pretty clear business model I have started to work on strongly since the end of the summer.
As you can imagine, it is about beer and, of course, about crypto, as most of what I have been doing in the past years. This is also the reason I have been attending some beer festivals lately and I will be attending the biggest one in town tomorrow.
Launching a new project is something that always fascinates me. Everything has to be done, from sharing the idea with partners to join the team, thinking about the name, purchasing the domain name, creating the first comms material, web, etc. To of course go out there and explain your model to clients and users so you can intend to live out of it if you finally reach the break-even point.
It is not always fun, actually, it is stressful sometimes, but as the project starts getting shape in any small progress you make, it is very rewarding. Especially when you start to see the market is interested and wants to join.
We have already created our Hive account @gifmebeer as we will be using it as the project blog channel. I met with @detlev a few weeks ago and we had a great talk sharing the model and discussing about ways to give it visibility on Hive. We also talked about other ways to collaborate which I hope we can end up doing in the future. It is these kinds of learnings, not publicly visible to the customers and users, the ones that are most rewarding to me.
All the learnings, the relationships, the hard-working hours, and the network of experiences make any venture worth it even if after a few months you realize there are too many hurdles and you end up closing down. Not every project makes it in terms of profit the same way there are always a few winners in a race, but trying is part of the game, and the more you do, the more you enjoy and are prepared to face future ones.
The next stop is the Mash Beer Festival tomorrow, as I posted yesterday, so get ready to read some "foamy" 🍺 stories from now on!
