It's been a long busy week and as the weather keeps changing I ended up catching a cold, so I have been with a bit of fever for several days. I was running out of pills but luckily you can find everything around so this morning I stopped by the closest pharmacy to get some paracetamol.
Yesterday I ended my work and today we had lunch all together at a restaurant in the south of the European side of the city, by the ocean. The place was nice and we were expecting to be able to eat on the terrace but unfortunately, it started raining and we ended up eating inside.
Here are the views from outside of the restaurant but as you can see, it was cold and windy after it had been raining for quite a while
It was a seafood restaurant and I enjoyed my meal, lentil soup as a starter and a grilled fish as my main dish ending with Turkish baklava as desert.
This is a huge city full of life, and there is a big contrast as you find old housing and local stores mixed with fancy hotels and restaurants. Just to give you a sense of this contrast, here's a photo of the façade from the hotel I am staying in and two views from one of the room's balconies.
But that's also the beauty of this city where you can get lost in the local traditional Turkish world and jump into modern life next door.
But honestly, this is what makes the city so interesting to me.
