Last day at the Hospital for a while

Today I am having my last weekly shot at the hospital. I've been taking weekly shots for the past 6 months increasing the venom dose every week to get my defense system to learn how to fight it if I ever get bitten by the same wasp variety I was bitten before. The treatment is not over, I will have to keep visiting the hospital once a month now to keep getting shots, but at least I will have some relief and will be able to travel and not be so tight to the treatment schedule.

If you think about it, I was lucky enough to have my body react after a while when I lost consciousness two summers ago when I got bitten, I was riding the bicycle and as I started feeling dizzy, my reaction was to quickly go to my parents house as I was home alone that week, I lost consciousness in the way there, but my head drove me there and they were able to call the ambulance as I was not breathing, nor reacting at all. You are not aware of the dangers we face every day until you get into a serious health issue. I was not even aware I was allergic to wasps, and the allergic reaction could kill you!

I've had some reactions after taking the shots, one of them quite severe and the others not so much, but the doctors say that is part of the body training and they consider them to be normal. The treatment will still run for 5 years as now, they will keep injecting the same dose of venon to let my body "remember" how to react.

Since then, I am more aware of any insect flying around me whenever that happens. I don't run away, but I try to slowly move somewhere else, and especially, I do not try to hit them with my hand to force them to go away.

Wasps have been spreading strongly in the past years and they tend to create hives in any small space they find. You have to be careful if you want to destroy their hives as they are aggressive and once one of them bites you, it leaves an aroma for the others to recognize and also come to bite you, they are a trained army of soldiers defending their territory. They love food and sweet stuff so you cannot have lunch outside as they quickly start coming to your table.

There are traps you can put here and there and plants you can grow for them to stay away from your area, I will start using some of these methods next summer, now that autumn has arrived and they mostly will be quiet for some months.
