Good day Steemian welcome to today's Steem price update for 28/2/2019 I have been posting the Steem price update since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com many have came here to discuss the daily Steem prices and changes for just over 2 years now.
I also want to mention just incase your thinking something doesn't seem normal from the other regular Price update posts that the daily Steem price posts do slightly change from time to time.
But regardless of changes we will carry on as usual and by this I mean knowing the price of Steem as its important for your daily plan or strategy and honestly even if you are not planing to do anything with your Steem I still recommend checking out these updates and keeping an eye on the price, so without further ado lets take a look at today's Daily Steem Price Change for 28/2/2019
Should you be trading with Steem today..
Last day of February, I just want to quickly mention we only have 140 more SP to go till we reach dolphin so any extra support on that is appreciated. Steem's January high of $0.43 remains the best value for 2019. We had our first February Bitcoin downwave on the 6th but on the 8th that downwave got destroyed as Bitcoin's went from $3352 to $3663. This first downwave took Bitcoins from $3433 down to $3355 but now we have gone way past that $3433 mark. The 3rd Bitcoin upwave for February took Bitcoin's from $3915 to $4135 but 4 days ago Bitcoin's downwaved and went slightly further down then what we had just gained and so it went from $4170 down to $3726 after that we started getting some good recovery going to $3849 but yesterday Bitcoin's started falling to almost another downwave and so today you would of thought Bitcoins recovered but strangely it remains roughly the same. As for Steem we had some bad timing yesterday but today is different it as done really well which is why it's so interesting to see Bitcoin's didn't really have a effect on today's results, a very good sign indeed. Anyway so as you may remember Steem fell back to $0.34 where we expected $0.35 but it held on $0.34 really well and because we only saw movement around ⏰05.35 there was a high chance we would only see $0.36 today. Still we jumped to $0.37 by ⏰14.15 there was a good hold on $0.38 also, but it didn't stop there by ⏰14.45 we hit $0.39 and at ⏰16.05 Steem reached $0.40. If nothing much happens in 2019 then I hope those who are in the game will take the opportunity to keep collecting Steem. Still Steem at these low prices put's us on a survival mode era as Bitcoin dropped drastically forcing Steem's value to tank forcing Steem-INC staff reductions, a possible threat to the website and the Steemit's account security. The conclusion is to cut down the costs of nodes. Hivemind is now live the "steemd" instance size's went from 488GB RAM to now shockingly 61GB RAM! Focus is on a multi index RocksDB adapter which is a new technology in development to allow the Steem blockchain nodes to store almost all of it's necessary data to a disk in a modern database instead of RAM, this move will make nodes cheaper. And so with the power downs also put into a halt all we really need is the price to be abit higher and we will be out of survival mode. Ned also said that the cost reduction progress will still remain above the creation of SMT's which I feel is the right move. Also nodes continue to run well on hivemind to which it was only made possible thanks to AppBase. Also if you still don't understand how your private keys work or are relatively new to Steemit you can go to the Steemitblog account for a recent official explanation. SBD's yesterday had fallen a few times to $0.96 and it was surprising to see that today it had fallen to $0.95 at ⏰11.50 still SBD's managed to hold onto $0.98 which is how we started today. But fell to $0.96 by ⏰02.20. The good thing is today had a little hidden surprise SBD's burst the 2019 record of $0.98. Yes not only taking SBD's to $0.99 but we hit the $1.00 mark finally, oh and it went on still to $1.01 the highest for 2019. It was after reaching $1.01 that it went back to $0.95.. but it's ok we are back on $0.98.
