Steemit Saves the Day~ Arting around with Snook~ Ulog 37

There is a new user on Steemit called @Eveningart.

I was very, very lucky when she found my Steemit page.

Why?

Why what?

Why. Are. You. Lucky?

Oh, because......

Really? that's your answer?

No, but you are bugging me and turn around if fair play!

Sigh.....

I'm very, very lucky because @Eveningart is this bundle of happiness, joy, and good-heartedness. She leaves you comments that come from her heart on your posts.

With this last month being as busy? crappy? weird? or my 'real life world' hasn't been playing nice with me, she was this beacon of light when her comments kept popping up on my posts.

One day I had some free time. Okay, that was a lie. One day I made time to go to Eveningart's blog and find out who this sweet person was that had been leaving wonderful and insightful comments on my posts.

Once on her Steemit page, I found out that she had only been on here one week!!! I was floored. Eveningart was writing comments better than any I could ever make. I would never have guessed she had only been here a week.

I started reading the seven posts she had made during her first week on Steemit. Her posts were all a joy to read. I think I left a comment on each of her 7 posts that day. I felt like a Paparazzi stalker because each post was better than the last one.

Eveningart draws, in pencil, absolutely stunning artwork you can see in her post: My Pet and Portrait Pencil Drawings. In this same post, she asks the question below. I, of course, said Yes!!!! please!!!! WHEN!!! Are they Ready yet???

How-to posts?
So, here’s a question for my fellow artsy Steemians - would you be interested in some how-to posts here? I’d love to share the bits and bobs I learn as I go - and I’ve experimented with so many bits of equipment and different pencils and props over the past 3 years- I’d love to share this knowledge if there’s a desire here for that kind of content? Let me know what you think in the comments!~@eveningart

As life happens, this evening I was in need of a distraction badly. Let's just say God decided to throw everything at me this afternoon, even death (Mom's fine but still very sick). Off to go read @Eveningart's blog I went and what did I find?

How To Draw: Beginner's Guide to Shading (and everyone else too!)

I read the whole post up until I watched her cool drawing video of the circle thingy we were to make so we could start learning how to shade. I had already bought new pencils and a sharpener so I was all set. I was eagerly waiting for this post to come out. Uhmmm......I forgot to get paper but I think I have a long way to go before I need to worry about that as you will see below. 😏

Being the perfect follower of directions that I am, I decided that going to look for a compass was a waste of my time. A circle is a circle, right? Squiggly lines are squiggly lines, right?

Yeah.....No....... and then I got bored.

I mean it's a circle. How exciting is that?

Except if you read her directions she does go on to explain how important this exercise is in learning to shade correctly but let's face it when have I ever followed directions?

I decided to draw a mouse instead.

Yes, I know it looks nothing like a mouse.😁

It's not about the mouse though. It's about learning to shade.

Though the end drawing looks nothing like any kind of animal I have ever seen and leaves a lot of room for improvement, it was just what I needed to focus on at the end of my day.

It was so relaxing and fun. I made up stories in my head why he has a scar on his back leg......You don't want to know....it's a painful story. He had to get stitches and everything! Really!

Thank You @Eveningart for all you did for me tonight. Without even knowing it, you gave me the perfect end to my day!

Love,

Snook
