Description from Strava:
I have not run in a few days due to work and travel. Unfortunately it was somewhat wet out there today, but I can tolerate that for a half hour or so. I do not bother with waterproofs, but my AllBirds shoes keep some of the water out.
I was at the White Horse last night for our fortnightly jam session. That is always fun. We are having an open mic there next month.
I seem to have lost my Strava Local Legend status on some segments, so I will take that as a prompt to get back to my repeated hill 'sprints'. The nearest hill is the old drive up to Fairfield and I use the stretch between the first road hump and the bollards as my workout. I tend to do that 300m five times and take it very gently on the way back down.
It is always hard work, but I am sure it does me good. I am not quite back to my best times, but this is something to work on over the winter. The main issue today was just being able to see. Wet glasses are annoying. I do wonder about getting my vision fixed even if it just means I can run without glasses. There were some big puddles around, but I managed not to get splashed by cars. I did step in some due to not spotting them.
I was wet through by the end of this, but I just changed into my dressing gown when I got back to have breakfast before my shower. I may be on the last of the raspberries from the garden. I like those with my cereal and it has been a good crop.
I expect to do parkrun on Saturday and the local course is likely to be 'soft' with all this rain.
Run free, whatever the weather.
