Description from Strava:
A couple of days after running the Standalone 10k my legs are still sore. It is the hardest run I have done in a while and it takes a toll. I was in the office for the last two days, so had to do some walking, but I needed a short break from running. Yesterday the train was packed due to industrial action. I only just squeezed in.
So it was back to some running today with a gentle jog up to Fairfield. My legs were okay once I got going. It was fairly cool out there, but nice.
One the way up West Drive I found one of the speed humps had chunks ripped out of it. Those humps are redundant really as no cars can go up there, but it must have taken something substantial to do this. There may be the odd motorbike going up there, but even that would not do this sort of damage.
The rest of the run was uneventful. I saw a few other runners out including one guy who looked pretty quick.
I did a Strava post about Standalone that has not made it to Hive (yet?) as there was an issue with images. The organisers provide loads of photos that their team take for free. In some races you have to pay for them. I found myself in a few. This is just before the final corner to get back into the farm. I was done in by then.
Run free!
