When it's easy, anybody can do it

Steem is pretty damn complicated isn't it? Crypto in general even more so. Buying is hard, transfers are difficult, keeping keys safe a nightmare... And on Steem, there are the social jungle rules to negotiate too, the most difficult aspect of all.

If only it was all easier.

I have thought this for a long time and I do want it to get easier but, not quite yet. Steem is actually more complicated because of the social aspect than most other cryptos as no one expects traders to act in any other way than traders. On Steem, community is a key factor.

The reason I don't want the technology to get easy just yet is twofold. Firstly, we haven't worked out the system well enough to function under heavy load from a social standpoint and doing it with less people is a little less unwieldy perhaps. Secondly, if it is easier, anybody can do it.

While price might shoot up when there are many users, many users is also a lot of competition which means, only those with Steem can really benefit. If that happened now, the middle class can never grow and the largest accounts will never need to sell. People want a better distribution? Buy off the exchanges rather than trying to solely earn from the inflation pool.

Unfair isn't it? Gotta buy-in to have potential value? Damn. I thought I could own for free and when mainstream happens, I am a billionaire that can buy islands. Some might do just that, not many.

People who want the Steem price to go up now are either holding enough Steem to make it worth it for them or, are desperate for any amount of income. Those looking long are likely pretty happy with low competition and a good opportunity to buy more. Interesting isn't it?

People want Steem to do well in the markets even if they don't have any Steem. What is with that? Get some Steem first and then worry about what you can sell it for.

I know a lot of people hate the complications here but for me it has meant that I have had to invest a lot more time into actually understanding what is going on, or trying. I don't always get it right.

I would bet that very few earners on YouTube really understand how the platform works and that means, they are controlled. Fed and milked cattle, even while they get a good salary. Not understanding the environment one expects to earn from carries a high risk every time.

Many may not get this sentiment I have for the complication but I have never been one to consume from the easy basket. Again, if it is easy to do or get, anyone can do or have it. Ubiquitous skills hold very little value, neither does common knowledge.

Steem requires a host of skills to cover most of it, and a lot of learning that most in this world have never heard of or could never be interested or bothered enough to do. Good. High value potential, low competition.

Just got to do some learning. Most people have no idea what content Steem is capable of delivering in the future. Maybe it is just a lack of imagination but if suggest, it is in need combination with a lack of knowledge.

Aren't people curious to understand? Maybe that is the problem, we have been fed so much and had so much delivered into our gullet, we have forgotten what it means to explore our world. Are all the adventurers dead?

Not all. Not all.

Anyone can do easy. Goodnight.
