A great convincing win against Bournemouth on the road yesterday. More importantly, a defensively solid performance and a clean sheet for Raya! Really kind gesture of Odegaard & Saka to give Havertz the penalty to help him regain some confidence. 3 points in the bag!
After dropping two points at the Emirates against Spurs last weekend , the Gunners came back with a bang against Bournemouth in an away trip . It seems the boys have a way of turning things around for the positive each time they play away from home .
It was indeed a solid performance from Arteta's boys at the Vitality stadium. I'm glad the boys were able to keep a clean sheet yesterday . This will make it David Raya's second clean sheet in the Epl which is actually impressive.
Bukayo Saka would not just stop scoring this season it seems . He opened the scoring for Arsenal in the 17th minute . His goal was as a result of his great positioning as he was there at the right time to head the ball home after the ball came off the crossbar directly to him . Captain fantastic, Martin Odeegard wrapped up the first half with a penalty kick in the 44th minute after Eddie Nketiah was fouled in the box .
To be honest, going into the second half I was a bit skeptical about Arsenal not conceding. Flashbacks of the Fulham and Spurs matches was all up in my face . I needed to see how the boys will compose themselves to keep the lead on and not concede . Apparently they convinced me as they went on to score two more goals courtesy of Kai Havertz and Ben White respectively .
Finally , Kai Havertz put an end to his goal drought especially to the shame of Chelsea fans who nicknamed him agent 007 . Even though it was a penalty kick , it was well needed to boost his morale and confidence. He calmly slotted in the penalty sending the keeper the wrong way. I hope he is able get enough momentum from this as he continues to convince we the fans that he is worth having a starting shirt .
This away victory means the Gunners are yet to be unbeaten in the premier league. It's funny how both North London teams remain the only teams in the league to go unbeaten. Almighty Manchester City got devoured by Wolves yesterday to the surprise of many epl fans and of course pundits and bookies. This just shows that Football is always unpredictable, expect the unexpected is what this means.
For Arsenal, it is on to the next one . The next fixture is definitely not going to be an easy one . The Gunners will be facing the defending champions at the Emirates which promises to be one hell of a cracker.
This match will test Arsenal's strength for real even though City will be without Rodri and Kevin De Bryune. Coming from a defeat, the City squad will go all out against Arsenal like a wounded Lion . One just wonders if the Gunners will rise up to the task and give the league leaders a run for their money this coming weekend. Only time will tell I guess!!
