Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.
in this post, I will explain how to use "TAUNT" without having to use monsters with TAUNT abilities. So that we don't feel worried when facing monsters with FURY abilities or we are in the FEROCIOUS Ruleset.
Almost the same as TAUNT Ability
Before explaining about what TAUNT Ability resembles, I will explain a little about TAUNT Ability.
Based on the explanation from splintercards.com, TAUNT ability is an ability that makes All enemy Monsters target this Monster (if they are able to)
. Why the phrase "if they are able to"
? Because there are some monsters that cannot or are not affected by TAUNT ability. some of them are:
SCATTERSHOT ability, Monsters with this ability will not be affected by TAUNT ability because the attack directed by monsters with this ability is always random (even it can hit monsters with CAMOUFLAGE ability which cannot be attacked unless it is in the first position).
TANK or first-position monsters are not affected by TAUNT abilities if monsters with TAUNT abilities are placed in positions other than the first position. TANK can only attack fellow TANKs (first-positioned monsters).
Lily Shieldpaw
The one that works similarly to the TAUNT ability is Lily Shieldpaw. *Why is that? Lily Shieldpaw gives an additional ability in the form of CAMOUFLAGE to all monsters, both monsters that are in the first position to the very last. CAMOUFLAGE itself is an ability to "hide " (as the name implies) from STEALTH monsters (SNIPE, OPPORTUNITY, SNEAK) and can only be attacked when they are in the first position.
So when facing an opponent who uses Lily Shieldpaw as a Summoner, monsters with abilities such as SNIPE, SNEAK, and OPPORTUNITY cannot attack the target corresponding to their respective abilities and can only attack the monster in the first position. Just like TAUNT abilities that "force" monsters to attack the owner of the TAUNT ability. But what distinguishes it from TAUNT ability is that we can still use the workings of TAUNT ability but can avoid the effects given by the FERACIOUS ruleset or FURY ability (which gives twice the attack impact when hitting monsters with TAUNT ability).
Another difference between Lily Shieldpaw and TAUNT ability is that the target that must be attacked by the opponent can only be in the first position. Whereas in TAUNT ability, the monster with this ability can be placed in any position, so that the attack from the opponent's monster can be split (the opponent's TANK will attack our TANK, while the other opponent's monster will direct the attack to the monster with TAUNT ability).
Lily Shieldpaw can also be an option when in the NOXIOUS FUMES Ruleset because she is equipped with the TRIAGE ability that heals monsters in positions other than TANK. The way this works is by bringing a monster with the TANK HEAL ability and placing it in a position other than the first position. Then at the beginning of each round (when POISON from NOXIOUS FUMES starts working), TRIAGE from Lily Shieldpaw will heal monsters with TANK HEAL ability, while monsters with TANK HEAL ability will heal monsters in the first position (However, it's not that simple).
The Weakness of Using Lily Shieldpaw
According to my experience so far while using Lily Shieldpaw, the weakness of this Summoner is that it needs a TANK with good defense because it will be the main target of all the opponent's monsters' attacks. It is possible that monsters with abilities like SNEAK, SNIPE, or OPPORTUNITY have very high ATTACK POWER or very troublesome abilities like POISON. To avoid this, supporting monsters that have abilities such as TANK HEAL, REPAIR, CLEANSE, or RESURRECT are needed.
Unlike Quix the Devious (who are both Summoners from DRAGON SPLINTER), Lily Shieldpaw has no abilities that help increase or decrease SPEED, so if you are the type of player who relies on speed or "Decreased attack accuracy " (FLYING, DODGE, PHASE, BLIND), you need more monsters with abilities like SWIFT or SLOW than when you use Quix the Devious.
Meanwhile, the Summoner that can be used to counter the CAMOUFLAGE of Lily Shieldpaw is...

---|
These 2 Summoners both have abilities that can counter CAMOUFLAGE. Conqueror Jacek has the SCATTERSHOT ability which is an ability that attacks a random target each round (except for the monster in the first position). This ability is like ignoring the CAMOUFLAGE ability that tries to "hide" from the opponent's monster attacks.
Meanwhile, Yodin Zaku has the BLAST ability which deals additional damage to monsters next to the target of the attack (unless the monster has the REFLECTION SHIELD ability). Even though the monster's attack is still aimed at TANK, the additional damage will still hit the monster behind TANK (even if it has the CAMOUFLAGE ability).
!!!!! Never use Lily Shieldpaw in rulesets like EXPLOSIVE WEAPONRY (give additional BLAST ability to All monsters) and AIMLESS (give additional SCATTERSHOT ability to All monsters) !!!!! |

Chaos Dragon level 2 (Silver League Max. level) will be quite a troublesome monster when we use Lily Shieldpaw as a summoner. Because at that level he already has 2 abilities that can ignore the existence of the CAMOUFLAGE ability.
Some of My Battles that use Lily Shieldpaw
Here I wanted to rely on speed by bringing 2 SLOW monsters and 1 SWIFT monster and reduce the accuracy of my opponent's attacks by bringing BLIND monsters. But my defeat started to show when my main monster (Void Dragon) was hit by an attack from Diemonshark who was in Rage mode.

My defeat in this battle was due to lack of luck and my opponent was smarter in choosing Strategy. Both used Lily Shieldpaw and Chaos Dragon, but luck was on my opponent's side after I lost the monster's SWIFT and the extra STATS that Void Dragon had was removed using the DISPEL ability.

Just like before, but in this battle I was luckier. Although Void Dragon was successfully defeated, because the levels of some of the monsters brought by the opponent were slightly lower, it allowed me to win this battle.
