Dpoll 29: Do you join writing (story, tale, poetry) contests?
As I joined Steem I thought this platform was about writing.
You might find me naive I'm telling you this but that is why I joined.
The reality is you hardly find writers and readers here and the contests hosted are not doing well. Many writers left after the latest HFs and a part no longer writes on this platform.
There might be only a few writers (authors) left but.... here everyone can be a freewriter.
@mariannewest provides in a daily prompt and you only need to write about if for 5 minutes. You can write in English, German or Spanish.
You can write stories or poems as a freewriter or join some contest.
If you have a look at @freewritehouse you can recommend a freewrite but join WE-write or the beta readers group too.
@bananafish hosts Haiku contests in English and Spanish and there was more.
@felixgarciap hosts a "Lyric and Poetry" contest and
@tristancarax the "31 sentence" contest.
I agree most contests are not easy to join especially if you are a nonnative speaker or the rules (Haiku for example) differ from yours. Still, it is fun to join once in a while no matter if you ever win since this is a way to improve your writing skills and engage.
Do you join writing (story, finish the story, poetry) contests?
