We eat what we have in stock.

I set my targets for 2020

It was about time (I am getting older) and my options to save are nihil.
What I save has to be paid by my monthly income/budget and this means cut on foid.
I am not the only one doing this. Many Dutch families do exactly the same. I envy those who buy a lot of food first and see "later" which bill they can afford to pay. I do not like to have debts and as long as I can prevent it I will.

We eat what we have in stock.
A few times a year I buy vegetables in can or glasses. I always have oatmeal flakes and flour, try to have oil. I have peanut butter, chocolate spread, rice, and some basic ingredients.
My main concern is the children still have something to eat, eat some fruit, vegetables, and have a snack which they can eat during the school day. They leave between 5:30 am and 7 am without breakfast.

What did we eat in the past days?

I bought some potatoes and fried them.
No peeling, they are eaten with the peel.

Only the bus-kid had bread with it.
These are chicken burgers and they were vacuum packed. Without a fridge, this is the only way to store meat longer.

We had pancakes.
I made them with water, oatmeal, a bit flour, and raisins only.
Some applesauce was left.

We had fried rice twice.
I cooked too much so enough for two days.

One day we ate it with an omelet and peanut sauce...

**The second day we had it with a sausage and what was left of the peanut sauce and rice.
The sausage is pork, sold with 6 and vacuum-packed too.

A part of the (white) rice I used to make rice milk for the youngest. It preferred eating that instead of fried rice but ate the sausage.

To some it is breakfast to us dinner.
My children love beans (all kinds of) and they are healthy.
They say it provides against cancer. Not many people still eat beans but we do. It is cheap and you only need to heat them up which I can do on the woodstove.

For the week coming up, I have plenty of food left so I hope I do not need the 3 euro I can afford to spend this week.
I just need to figure out what we will eat.

This is my entry to Qurator's Tasty Tuesday #110
