Tomorrow is not given

Yesterday my heart grieved as I heard about a legend passing away along with his daughter and seven other people. Although I am not a huge basketball fan, somehow this terrible accident reminded me that tomorrow is not given. That anything can happen anytime which should make us be more involved in the present moment. Cherish it more instead of being busy making plans for tomorrow.

I resonated to this sad new because beside being a legend on the court, Bryant Kobe was also a highly involved person in his community and the most important, he was a family man, a father who loved spending time with his family.

My heart went to those left behind, his wife and three daughters. I can not even imagine what they must be dealing with. The pain cause by losing two important pieces of the puzzle must be devastating. Going over the loss of your lifetime partner is not an easy thing. But having to deal with two deaths, that must be excruciating. I hope his loved ones will find the strength to go on.

As a mother, I couldn't help thinking of what my child would have to go through if his dad would suddenly pass away. The mere thought of it gave me the chills and brought tears into my eyes.

Living in fear is not an option, but being aware that life is a gift is a must. Getting involved in the present each day, enjoying every single moment of your life is what you need to do. In the end, all that counts are these little memories we create on a daily basis. The small things are those that matter.

Thus remember to hug and kiss your loved ones once more. Tell them often what they mean to you and how much you love them cause you don't know if you will get another chance to see them again.
