Hoje trago para vocês no "Song of the Day", de Ronaldo Miranda (1948), "Variações Sérias sobre um tema de Anacleto de Medeiros". O nome "Variações sérias" foi dado em homenagem a obra "Variations Sérieuses, op. 54" de Félix Mendelssohn para piano solo. Enquanto musicalmente, a obra explora variações sobre a melodia da música Yara, de Anacleto de Medeiros, também utilizada por Heitor Villa-Lobos em seu Choros, n10, com o subtitulo de "Rasga Coração". Nome dado por Catulo da Paixão Cearense em 1912, após escrever um poema sobre a melodia de Anacleto.
Today I bring to you in "Song of the Day", by Ronaldo Miranda (1948), "Serious Variations on a Medeiros Anacleto Theme". The name "Serious Variations" was given in honor of Félix Mendelssohn's work, "Variations Seriesuses, op. 54" for solo piano. While musically, the work explores variations on the melody of the song Yara, by Anacleto de Medeiros, also used by Heitor Villa-Lobos in his Choros, 10, with the subtitle "Rasga Coração". O tema de Yara é exposto logo ao começo da peça, seguida de 10 variações com seções contrastantes. A interpretação é do Quinteto de Sopros Camargo Guarnieri, com José Ananias na Flauta, Joel Gisiger ao Oboé, Sérgio Burgani no Clarinete, Alexandre Silvério ao Fagote, e Nikolay Genov na Trompa, gravado ao vivo no Auditório do Masp em 14 de Agosto de 2015.
Yara's theme is exposed at the very beginning of the piece, followed by 10 variations with contrasting sections. The interpretation is from the Camargo Guarnieri Wind Quintet, with José Ananias on the Flute, Joel Gisiger on the Oboe, Sérgio Burgani on the Clarinet, Alexandre Silvério on the Bassoon, and Nikolay Genov on the Horn, recorded live at the Masp Auditorium on August 14, 2015. .
