Tears Revolude is an small scale RPG that tries something new.

I'm playing & posting about the games from my backlog. Here I write about them and think whether I'd try finishing them or not. Though many of them are from Indiegala.
Tears Revolude
Scion and Michelle are treasure hunters. In one of their adventures, they find a girl who doesn't remember anything except her name Liara.
The three of them work on finding the truth about her and the strange crystal monsters they encountered. Fighting the people after her and at the same time, they'll find some treasures on the way.
The story isn't really that epic. At least in my first impression playthrough, I didn't find something big. But it's good enough to make me want to play more.
The exploration part of this RPG is interesting though. When in a dungeon you control your 2D sprite character over a 3D map. In the top right corner of the screen, you can see the first person view your character is seeing. I thought it's a pretty good idea.
There are no random encounters. Enemies roam the map and if you touched them a battle will start.
Battle System
The battle system is similar to RPG maker games, that is a traditional turn-based battle system with a few differences. The enemies are animated and some special skills use the SP meter that fills up when damaging enemies.
Final Thoughts
I'm still early in the game so this is just a first impression. I like the exploration and the battle parts and how they try something new.
Though the characters seem typical anime archetypes. Sion is the typical adventurer and Liara is a kind of Kuudere. I hope there's some character development at some point of the game or the characters break their archetypes a bit. If that happens it'll be awesome!
