Are you going to Steemfest 4 in Bangkok because you want to be the new flashy kid who want to present yourself? Want to promote you online business? Hook up with other cool Steemians and maybe find yourself a Steembird ? That was the question in @anomadsoul post this week about the reasoning why you are attending Steemfest. My reasoning isn't that difficult actually

Last year was my first steemfest. What I remember about it most, is that I didn't really know what to expect of it. I am not a wizzkid in coding nor do I run a flashy online company. So what was I really doing there then? The answer to that is really simple actually. Steemfest is such fun because of the mixture of people that attend.
I talked to a lot of different people with different intentions. There were a lot of users as myself who are just enthousiasts, but there were also some heavy staked Steem peepz who were really working on the future of Steem. Next to that you had people who were heavy investors and were curious what their investment was leading to, and you had a group of people who were talking about the technics of the Steem background. I don't think you will find such mixture of involved people at any other regular crypto related conference.
More than once I answered the question 'what are you dynamics in the board' with the answer that I am just a user. And what was cool to see, was that was a totally wrong site. Because developers need the insights of users. Users need developers to proceed. Developers need investors for their part. And so forth. We all depend on each other

So for me the reason of going is pleasure. I enjoyed talking to likeminded people who also have a crypto heart and see the potential in it, but talk about it in a normal way, preferably while consuming an alcoholic fine treat of life. But the business part of what goes on behind the scenes was very cool to see. If I owned a digital business, I would surely use the Steem blockchain to do something with it in that way, But it a way...maybe my blogging is my digital business. Because it mines a token with value. It mines stake in a company called Steem.
Doesn't that make us all businesspeople in the end, regardless of what our intentions are?
