November is flying up isn't it? It is only a little over a month away until SteemFest begins and I am looking forward to it but, am also a little bit nervous. The prompt this week from @anomadsoul is for after hours, what do I have planned for my free time.
I have hardly thought about it to be honest but after chatting with a few people over the weeks, I think I have good reason to be nervous. Although once upon a time I enjoyed a nip here and there, the last years have been much "quieter" and in the last two, I haven't really had a drink at all. Las weekend I drank a cider over the space of 2 hours and was tipsy. A week?! Jeeeez.
Well, the weather is going to play a pretty significant role in what cards are on the table to play and since I am expecting to lose all my chips quickly at poker, I should dress warmly if the forecast is accurate-ish.
The weather forecast for Krakow that week:
Looks pretty cold doesn't it? 10 degrees during the day!! Nah, that is like a coolish Finnish midsummer. The forecast in my city over the same period looks like this.
You have to look at it percentage wise. The weather is going to be around 300% warmer in Krakow than Finland so I am packing mostly beach attire.
I actually don't really know what to expect in the after hours as I don't really know what to expect in the pre-after hours (are they called 'working hours'). What I am hoping though that I will get a chance to have a good chat to some of the more interesting people from around the blockchain. It was great to see that @meno scored a surprise trip courtesy of @followbtcnews which is fantastic but I don't know why I bothered flirting with @crimsonclad all these months on steem.chat... ;)
Of course, I am sure that there will be activities organized by various Steemian groups on some nights and meetups at bars etc so I am not too worried about actually finding somewhere to be. I am not sure if there is a night put aside for a chance to touch @ned's hair but I am keeping fingers and toes crossed there will be.
One thing that does concern me is when I will have time to post because I still plan on putting something up each day without it being nonsense. Since I am taking my camera of course, what I will perhaps do is put some photos from the day and some thoughts about what came up. For those who won't be there this year, you are going to get a bit annoyed at all the SteemFest shill but at least last year, they had live feeds of the presentations and it is worth tuning in for some of them in my opinion. I will try to keep my posts a little lighter that week though.
So for me, the free-time will be spent getting to know people, wandering around Krakow taking pictures and hopefully having a chance to get a little bit of rest. I am unsure how much rest will able to be got considering but it is always good to have dreams. Of course, one thing I will do whenever I have the chance is call home and have a chat with @momone and @smallsteps.
No matter what happens there, it is going to be a long week away from them.
