A little procrastination may have saved empires. Could have.

My starboard hip had a deep pain the last couple of days. To the point of being hard to fall asleep which ended in a couple of late nights from my normal habit. Was not sure what it was although a strange positioning had been done somewhat repeatedly, lately, in the spirit of Boga exercising.

The weather was pretty blowy with up to 30km/hr winds blowing at Makina's aft port quarter. It would be nuts bobbing around in the dinghy trying to get the swim platform reattached. Thought it would be best for the hip as well as the reattachment exercise to sit out today.

Stopped in at the Wharf's office on the way back from the shower to see if they could accomidate me for another day and it turned out they could. Back to Makina to stay cozy with the diesel heater on low and Ashes of Creation beckoning me.

Now at end of day, giving my hip some down time seems to have had a positive effect. When taking a snack break from game play the package of crazy glue purchased the previous day came into my gaze.

My prescription sun glasses had served me long and faithfully. After acquiring Makina one of those chords were purchased; the ones that attach to the ear pieces so that should they fall off the end of your nose they will not drop into the drink without a life jacket.

It had saved them a couple of times.

Like some kind of weird life signal; which was beyond my interpretation; when less than a kilometer from my destination in the 1200 nautical mile passage from Scarborough, Ontario almost like by their own initiative they snapped perfectly into two parts.

Thinking that perhaps the lens might be saved they were put aside.

When strolling down an aisle at a local Doller Store my gaze fell upon a package of Crazy Glue. That clean break in the bridge of my glasses popped into mind.

It seemed like a good day for such a side project, so the glue was opened and the first attempt at repairs was made. Having never used crazy glue before, it was my assumption that the two sides would be immediately stuck together. However that was not the case. It needed a force to keep them together while the glue dried. A piece of electrical tape seemed to do the job perfectly.

It probably did not required the 15 minutes given it to bond; yet one would never guess by wearing them that they had had such a break! Time will tell how well it holds.

Until later then. This is the Old Procrastinating Seadog signing off. ✌️😎

May the wind be at your back!
