Came ashore, yesterday, to check on my package again. It still seemed to be caught up in the union's slow down policy while negotiations are underway with the government. Got all the details from a local pharmacy so that my Doctor could send another prescription directly to Lunenburg, as my supply was down to half a pill, with a dosage of one and a half per day.
Picked up some supplies at Foodland and headed back out to Makina. Contacted my Doctor's office to be informed that there was a refill order already at the Shopper's in Halifax. They were called and they explained that they could transfer the prescription so long as the pharmacy in Lunenburg contacted them. That had to wait until today.
It was a beautiful morning. The harbour's water was like glass with a mildest of a 9kms/hr wind. Went to shore on the dingy and arranged a docking space for the next 3 days. That is where it seemed the best place for the engine maintenance for reasons explained in the previous post.
Made arrangements at the local drug store for them to contact Shopper's for my script. They said they would call me when it was ready. Then back out to Makina to ready her for her docking at Zwickers.
Now the calm day was a bonus yet it was a pretty slick solo docking if said so myself. Not a scrape touch or bump. On and off to secure the lines. All in front of a gaggle of tourists.
Took a soothingly hot shower and back to Makina to relax. The engine maintenance could wait until tomorrow.
Got a call from the pharmacy mid-afternoon and dropped round for my prescription. Took today's dosage and it ended up me not missing a beat... or a dosage as the case may be. Will try to work something out at the post office for the one stuck in the mail before leaving Lunenburg. Kind of have this weekend or early next week as a departure date. Be nice to have another crew member but time will tell.
With shore power hooked up it should be a good evening of gaming with no need to run the engine for battery recharging.
Life is good!
