If it were my choice me and my crew would continue sailing the south shore for the rest of the summer but not everyone is a retired old seadog like myself. Yesterday the time had come for those with commmitments on shore to depart. At 8:15 the pre-arranged ride arrived to take Pierre, my Daughter and Son-In-Common-Law to a local gas station where the shuttle stops for Lunenburg passengers.
It was a bittersweet feeling to see them go. Sweet in the sense that we could not have asked for a better sailing introduction for my Daughter and Son-In-Common-Law and a great passage for even an experienced sailor like Pierre. The bitterness was the loss of their company.
It was not the first time my crews had departed. My practise has been to take at least a day to think things through and readjust to solo sailing; making plans for going forward. My first thought was to take in supplies. This entailed a pleasant stroll through town to the grocery store.
It was easy to see why the town is a UNESCO site. It is quite scenic. Not only the architecture of the homes but the bright and interesting choice of colors as well.
Even businesses were housed in the historic old buildings.
If a Chandlery does not harken back to the past then not sure what does...

Once back onboard a nice afternoon nap seemed in order after the sun, fresh air and boater-cise of the last few days. Upon awakening some planning was made to get Makina out to her mooring ball in the harbour in the morning.
The rest of the evening was spent binging on a hilarious series on YouTube of an AI generated Dungeons & Dragons Campaign DMed by Joe Rogan and a cast of players which includes Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

Sleep came easily to me again after a few episodes.
