A very thick fog lay upon Shelburne today. Just walking in it was like being in a light rain. The engine finally charged up the battery bank after 12 hours of running yesterday! The AGM batteries must have been holding a trickle of electricity. Luckily AGMs are not too affected by being run down like that; or so it's been told to me.
Went ashore for a shower and breakfast of the Emerald's Sunday brunch special of Eggs Benedict with salmon.
Dropped by the Sunday town market, afterwards, to pick up some comfort food of delicious squares.
The battery bank's SOC was 98% upon awaking this morning, after making sure to have the switches, mentioned in the last posting, set up correctly. Hopefully the crisis is in the rearview mirror.
Will talk to Liv about upgrading my solar from its present 400W to 1kW-1.5kW. She recently upgraded her system and will know the local steps to take for such a project.
Called Bobby the Taxi Driver in Lunenburg. He had taken my Daughter, Son-In-Common-Law and Pierre to meet the shuttle to Halifax upon their departure after our passage from there to Lunenburg.
He said that they could take the shuttle to Lunenburg and for $170 he would drive them the hour journey to Shelburne
Texted my Daughter about the idea. Offered to cover costs from the Boat Kitty.
Did my traditional boat activities of gaming, snacking and napping. Heavy on the napping today.
